Bio

Jeremy Grant is an interdisciplinary artist whose collage methodology permeates a broad studio practice including works on paper, sculpture, and animation. He is best known for his bold, compositionally-driven, linear abstractions evoking rivers, maps and branches. Winding organic shapes, often in vibrant colors on top of dark backgrounds, take on the qualities of an interior landscape, allowing Grant to engage themes of grief, memory, language and neuroplasticity.

Grant works serially in highly disciplined, process-driven investigations. Self-imposed limitations around composition or source materials create frameworks for him to explore within. His use of found materials, and the cultural associations held by those images and objects, are key to his process.

Grant’s 2019 film Remnants, a collaboration with composer Matthew Langford, was a selection for the Supernova Digital Animation Festival, and included in the Denver Film Festival. His work has been exhibited at Colorado College, The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, and is included in the Pardon Collection. He holds degrees in Graphic Design and Illustration (John Brown University, 2007).
